Welcome To

Habitat for Humanity of Glynn County.

We are an ecumenical Christian non-profit volunteer organization affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International eliminating substandard, poverty living circumstances by building safe, decent and affordable houses with God’s people working at the lower end of the wage scale.

Not a charity, nor a government agency! Habitat for Humanity builds and then sells safe, basic houses at costs and finances the mortgage without interest in partnership with families in need. Proudly Serving from Brunswick, Georgia since 1989.

Habitat BUILDS...

  • Houses for families... sixty-two in Glynn County and another 1 under construction presently! Habitat recently celebrated the construction of its 200,000th house since 1976, building in 2200 US communities and 99 foreign countries.
  • Hope... for families who cannot otherwise acquire conventional mortgage financing to own a safe, decent house.
  • Relationships... approved candidates become homeowner partners whose monthly mortgage payments are “recycled,” in part, to build other Habitat houses and as they work along side numerous volunteers to build other candidates’ homes as well as their own.
  • Partnerships... with churches, businesses, civic groups, individuals who volunteer to sponsor a house-build either individually or in groups and coalitions.
  • Community pride... improving neighborhoods one house at a time by replacing dangerous abandoned structures with new houses, building on empty, litter-strewn lots and often initiating home improvements projects among the neighbors.
  • Tax Revenues... replacing vacant, blighted areas with owner-occupied dwellings.

Volunteers should call Habitat 24 hours in advance to confirm work schedule and location. Generally, Habitat works 8am-2pm, Thursdays through Saturdays. Habitat provides drinking water and tools. Volunteers should provide work gloves, ears, eyes, sun and insect protection. No open-toed shoes are allowed on the site. Youth 14-18 years old must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian
